Training and Videos

All LEA ELPAC coordinators, site ELPAC coordinators, TEs, and school administrative staff who will be involved in the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test administration should complete the statewide Administration and Scoring Training prior to administering and scoring the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test. For the 2021–22 administration year, the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test Administration and Scoring Training will only be offered virtually via Moodle.

The LEA ELPAC coordinator, site ELPAC coordinator, and other staff are responsible for ensuring all appropriate trainings have been completed. Such training should include, but not be limited to, training on administration and scoring, item security, and professional conduct associated with the administration of standardized assessments.

TEs for the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test must complete the virtual Test Examiners Certification Course on the Moodle training site.

Additionally, the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test Administration and Scoring Training resources are available in the Moodle Training Site. Using the Moodle Training Site requires Alternate ELPAC trainers, LEA ELPAC coordinators, and Alternate ELPAC TEs to set up individual accounts. Access to the trainer’s resources, TE’s resources, or downloads resources requires keys. The LEA ELPAC coordinator is the only person with access to the keys and is responsible for distributing the keys to the appropriate LEA staff.

Practice and Training Tests

Online practice and training tests are available for the Alternate ELPAC Operational Field Test.

Practice and Training Test

The online Alternate ELPAC practice and training tests allow students, parents/guardians, families, teachers, administrators, TEs, and others an opportunity to become familiar with the online test delivery platform as well as the types of test questions that may appear on the actual test at each grade or grade span; they also help determine which accessibility resources are appropriate for the student.

The practice test includes examples of all the types of test questions that may appear in the actual test at each grade or grade span and mirrors a full-length operational test. The training test is shorter compared to the practice test and includes a sample test question for each item type.

The practice tests are available for kindergarten, grade one, grade two, grade span three through five, grade span six through eight, grade span nine and ten, and grade span eleven and twelve. The training tests are available for two grade bands—kindergarten through grade five and grades six through twelve.

For the Alternate ELPAC, test examiners have the ability to use picture cards and answer choice cards during the student’s test administration. Picture cards are a resource used for students who communicate using picture cards or a communication device. These picture cards should not be substituted during operational test administration. Be sure to print or upload the picture cards to the student’s AAC device as appropriate. If test examiners do not have yet standardized answer choice cards used in the classroom, they may use the Answer Choice Cards. Practice test Picture cards and Answer Choice Cards are posted on the ELPAC website under the Practice and Training Test Resources webpage.

Public Access

The practice and training tests can be used as a “guest” without logon credentials and by using a supported web browser; note that Internet Explorer is not a supported web browser. The practice and training tests do not require use of the secure browser, but some accessibility resources are only available through the secure browser.

Secure Access

If users want to access the practice and training tests as a TE, a logon will be required. TEs can contact the site ELPAC coordinator for logon credentials, if needed.
