Summative Alternate ELPAC SSR

This section explains the student’s Summative Alternate ELPAC SSR. Data displayed on the samples in this guide are for demonstration purposes only and do not reflect valid data.

Refer to the Reporting Criteria subtopic for information about the criteria required for a student to receive an SSR.

Summative Alternate ELPAC Reporting Levels

There are three possible reporting level’s for the student’s overall Summative Alternate ELPAC score:

  1. Fluent English Proficient (Level 3)
  2. Intermediate English Learner (Level 2)
  3. Novice English Learner (Level 1)

Additional Messaging

A student might have tested using an unlisted resource that was assigned by the LEA in TOMS. When the assigned unlisted resource changed the construct being tested, the following message, noted with an asterisk (*), appears on the second page of the SSR:

* An unlisted resource that changed the construct was used during testing; therefore, the student received the lowest score.

Table 1. Student Information Descriptions
# Feature Description
1 Student’s mailing address This area shows the student’s residential address as listed in CALPADS.
2 Student and school information

This area shows information about the student and the school and LEA name, as well as the county/district code.

Note that the grade indicates the grade level in which the student was enrolled at the start of testing and the testing date indicates the date the test was submitted. If the student’s test examiner did not log on to the test, the test date is the last date of the statewide testing window, which occurs on May 31 of the testing year.

1 Score reporting range This indicator places the student’s scale score within the appropriate score reporting range for the performance level.
2 Skills summary The skills summary descriptors are listed for each score range.
3 Explanation of results This section describes what the student’s results mean in terms of English learner status and whether the student will need to take the Summative Alternate ELPAC again.
