CAASPP Smarter Balanced SSRs will no longer contain school and state averages.
CERS will provide Lexile® and Quantile® measures for students who took the CAASPP Smarter Balanced assessments based on their Smarter Balanced for ELA and mathematics scores. These measures help teachers and families find texts and materials that are appropriately challenging for students.
The Individual Student Report in CERS and the LEA Student Score Data File in TOMS will provide explanations behind a zero score on the ELA WER items, if applicable, such as an off-topic or off-purpose response.
Results for content area assessments are released independently in CERS; for example, a student’s ELA results might be available before the mathematics results.
CAST
CAST aggregated results for high school reporting are now also presented for all eligible students who are enrolled in grade twelve, regardless of when the students tested (in grade ten, eleven, or twelve). This data is available on the Test Results for California’s Assessments website as “Class of [Year].”
CAST SSRs will no longer contain school and state averages.
CAAs for ELA and Mathematics
CAAs for ELA and mathematics SSRs will no longer contain state averages.
Results for content area assessments are released independently in CERS; for example, a student’s ELA results might be available before the mathematics results.
CAA for Science
Pending the SBE’s approval, scale scores and the following reporting levels are available to report CAA for Science results in November 2022:
Understanding (Level 3—Alternate)
Foundational Understanding (Level 2—Alternate)
Limited Understanding (Level 1—Alternate)
The CAA for Science consists of four embedded PTs. The student must have logged on to all four embedded PTs to be counted as having participated and to receive a scale score.
Student raw scores for each embedded PT are available in the LEA’s student data files.
The CAA for Science SSRs will be available as individual documents.
Test results at the school, LEA, and county levels for the CAA for Science will also be reported on the Test Results for California’s Assessments website and in CERS when the results are available.
CSA
SSRs will include the previous year’s score as well as the current year’s score, if available.
